Brownsville Skate Parties Are Back #WestWindsorVT #VT
Even with temperatures in the teens, Brownsville 's Friday Night Skate Party kicked
off with a bang. The party held at a community built ice rink behind Albert Bridge
Elementary School in Brownsville saw a huge crowd of skaters, close to 50 adults and children of
all ages and skating ability. For the third year, the community has come
together to maintain the rink for community members to use during the winter.
Continuing in last year's tradition, Mark Aldrich brings
music and hot dogs. Jeremy
Underhill builds the
bonfire. Catherine
Underhill makes homemade
hot chocolate, coffee for the adults, cookies and doughnut holes-a very popular
request according to Catherine-and on the menu for Friday Jan. 16. With the
long weekend coming up even more skaters are anticipated.
The Skate Party is completely funded by community donations,
which are always welcome, to help offset the associated costs of maintaining
the rink and purchasing some of the party fixings. Donations can be dropped off
at the Town Hall.
