Key West Adventure-Stock Island, Todd Snider East Martello night 2

January 23, Stock Island and Todd Snider

After breakfast, Jay and I decide to walk to Stock Island. It's about an hour walk to the Hogfish Bar and Grill. We've heard so much about this place, we had to check it out before we leave Key West.

We walk along South Roosevelt  and turn onto US1. On one side of the bridge there are mangroves and the Atlantic Ocean. On the other side is the Gulf.

Walking along the Overseas Highway and along some of the side streets, we notice that someone on Stock Island is a very talented muralist.

At Boyd's Campground we turn onto 4th Street, then Front Street and we're finally there.

I imagine this is what the Shrimper bars looked like in Key West before it became a tourist/Parrothead destination.

We both ordered the "Killer Hogfish Sandwich". OMG was it ever good.

We walk back to the hotel-a little more slowly with the yummy sandwich in our tummies.

If you arrive by car, this colorful sign greets you.

And requests you "Come Back Soon".

We hang out and start packing up all our stuff. The Todd Snider show is an hour earlier tonight so we hit the Cheekie Hut Bar for early cocktails and a nacho plate (we order one to take away and have after the show!)

The weather some what cooperates-it's not raining but man oh man is it chilly. Jay and I are first in line and get the same seats we had on Saturday night.

Chicago Farmer takes the stage at 6 p.m. and here we go for round two. Tonight I have my good camera and my cell phone for videos.

After a quick intermission (bathroom break!) Todd takes the stage.

Another great show! Fingers crossed Todd will hit the Northeast this Spring.

Back at the room we, munch on our nachos and watch the football highlights. Can't believe we have to head home already-I was just getting into the Key West vibe.
