Perkinsville Green
Memorial Day Ceremony hosted by The Weathersfield Veterans Committee

The sun came out just as folks were gathering on the Perkinsville Green to honor our fallen soldiers who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. The Catamount Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol presented the Flag.

The Weathersfield School students sang "This Land is Your Land"

Laying of The Wreath. Flowers were placed at the Veterans Statue that has been in place since 2010.

The Weathersfield Veterans Committee organized the event, which this year featured the unveiling of two plagues honoring long time Weathersfield residents Roger Eastman and Victor Jarvis (both deceased.)

Weathersfield students Virginia Snyder researched and designed the plaque honoring Victor Jarvis and presented a replica to Mrs. Jarvis.

Ozzie Jewett  researched and designed the plaque honoring Roger Eastman and presented a replica to Mr. Eastman's Family.

Flags around Perkinsville and Ascutney were flying in the breeze, honoring our Military Service men and women. These flags fly from Memorial Day through Veterans Days. All flags have been purchased through donations. In order to keep the flags flying, donations continue to be accepted. Checks should be made payable to Town of Weathersfield PO Box 550 Ascutney, VT 05030. Questions about the flags, please call 802-291-1475. Questions about the Veterans Committee, please call Chip at 802-885-2221.
