Graduations and Parades-it's that time of year #classof2016 #graduations

It's that time of year for Graduations and Alumni Parades.


Time to get the floats ready. I spent last Monday evening, June 6 with the Woodstock Union High School (WUHS) Class of 1981 as they prepared their float for the Annual WUHS Alumni Parade on Saturday June 11. True team work was happening in this garage in Bridgewater. It just goes to show that some school relationships can last a lifetime.

Everyone had a job to do and they did it well. They even made me an honorary member of the Class of 1981 WUHS!

Time to Say Thank You to teachers and families. Wednesday I visited the Albert Bridge School in West Windsor VT to witness the moving on of ten really cool children.

After this summer these close knit friends will be attending different middle schools. West Windsor doesn't have a high school into so they each get to choose a school to attend. Some go to Windsor, some go to Woodstock, some go to Hanover and one is going to Thetford.

Time to celebrate. I left the ceremony at Albert Bridge School and made my way over to Reading Elementary School for their 6th Grade Graduation Event. I say event because this wasn't your usual pomp and circumstance graduation. It was much more organic and family oriented.

The four graduating students sat on tree stumps in a circle surrounded by their school mates, families and friends.

The underclasses each wrote an adjective describing one of the graduating four and presented them a lei.

To top off the celebration one of the moms (a chef) and the school principal baked cupcakes in the graduates favorite flavors.

It was quite a special day and one I'm sure theses students will not soon forget.

Everyone Loves A Parade!
On Saturday, I hit the WUHS Alumni Parade in Woodstock.

The Class of 1996 was "Still in Mint Condition" and included their children the....Junior Mints!
