The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

July 4th Celebrations
West Windsor July 3-Independence Day celebration begins at Ascutney Mountain Resort, Route 44. 6-9 p.m. with food, music and an appearance by Cheryl the Clown. Fireworks at dusk. Free.

Various locations, Brownsville village, Brownsville-Hartland Road. The day starts with a pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by a parade at 1 p.m. (theme: “Stepping Up and Pitching In”), music, food, crafts and games. Free.
Hartland July 4 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Fourth of July/Old Home Day. Hartland Recreation Center, 19 Route 12. Parade starts at 10 a.m. Live music, vendors, a music trivia contest and more. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Visit hartlandrecreation.com for a schedule of events. 802-436-2790.

Springfield Humane Society is hosting low cost spay/neuter clinics in 2019: July 9, Aug. 13, Sept.24, Oct. 29, and Nov. 26 at the Springfield Humane Society, on Route 143. Cost is $50 for female cat and $40 for male cat. Weathersfield residents may be reimbursed up to $50 for the surgery with a limit of three pets per year. Get your SNAP form from the town office.
