Della Mae-Grammy nominated Band Performed in Randolph Vermont at the Chandler

Della Mae the Grammy-nominated, Nashville-based, all-female string band made up of: mandolinist Jenni Lyn Gardner, upright bassist Zoe Guigueno, lead vocalist/guitarist Celia Woodsmith, 2-time national champion fiddle player Kimber Ludiker, and guitarist Avril Smith performed two sets at the Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph Friday night. The group is out promoting their March 1 release “The Butcher Shoppe EP” on Rounder Records. The recording debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart and remained in the top five for three weeks.

Lead vocalist, guitarist and washboard player, Celia Woodsmith hails from Norwich Vermont. She grew up in the Upper Valley and graduated from the University of Vermont. Della Mae is traveling this summer backing Steve Martin & Martin Short. Friday night’s show was the only local appearance schedule for this summer so far.
