This 2nd Annual event was the brainchild of WCP Executive Director, Jennifer Grant. Grant explained that many venues and organizations host beer or wine tasting events, "in keeping with our mission, we wanted to host something that our mentors (Senior Partners) and their mentor-ees (Junior Partners) could enjoy together."
Some of the sodas and seltzers sampled included: Polar Seltzer Blueberry and Peach; San Pellegrino Orange-which was the 2015 1st Place Seltzer; Dry Soda Cucumber; Izze Blackberry; Foxon Park Birch Beer-2015 1st Place Soda; Virgil's Orange Cream, Cream Soda and Dr. Better; Regatta Ginger Beer; Reed's Extra Ginger Beer; Fentimans Dandelion and Burdock and their Curiosity Cola; and Maine Root Sarsaparilla.
This year's top tasting honors went to:
Seltzer category-San Pellegrino Orange -1st place for the second year in a row.
Gourmet Soda category-Virgil's Orange Cream -1st place, Foxon Park Birch Beer - 2nd place, Maine Root Sasparilla - 3rd place.
The event was free and open to the public.
