Weathersfield News October 5, 2015 Nancy Nutile-McMenemy photosbynanci@comcast.net There is a nip in the air and the trees are starting to blush. We had our first woodstove fire last Saturday. I pulled out the flannel sheets too, and snuggled in for a cozy night's sleep. I guess it's that time of year. Folks are picking apples and covering their plants at night. Time for our winter preparations to begin in earnest. I'm scoping out a patch to plant my garlic cloves for next summer's harvest. We had a bumper crop this year and I just love dipping homemade bread in garlic soaked in olive oil. Such a great winter time treat. I drove by Willis Woods' place and saw that the cider mill is churning out that sweet apple nectar. A stop for some cider and cider jelly is on my to do list for this week. I should also hit Wellwood Orchards for a bag of apples (and if I hold off until Saturday-I can grab some yummy cider doughnuts!) Select Board News : The Select Bo...
