Australian Ballot voting takes place on Tuesday, March 3 at Martin Memorial Hall in Ascutney form 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
We vote on money articles and elected officials for the town. Town and School Moderator seats are open so if you know someone who'd like to run the Town Meetings, this is their chance.
The word was that there was a problem with the ballots. The Select Board 2-year seat has two candidates running-Joseph P. Jarvis and Kelly O'Brien. The ballot said "Vote for not more than two". People who received absentee ballots noticed the mistake and reported it to the Town Clerk, FLo-Ann Dango. The mistake has been corrected and new ballots were mailed to the voters that had requested absentee ballots.

There were new changes to Vermont Election Laws that went into effect on January 1, 2017. As of that date:
- Eligible residents are able to register to vote on any day up to and including Election Day
- Registration is available at the Town Clerk’s Office on any day prior to the election during normal business hours
- Registration is available on Election Day during the hours the polls are open

Fondue Night at the Library. The Weathersfield Proctor Library is hosting their 2nd annual Fondue Night at 6:30 p.m. at the library in Ascutney. More info. call 802-674-5863.
Cold Comfort: Winter Wildlife Adaptations at the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park 10 a.m.-noon. Vermont wildlife knows how to get creative when it comes to the winter months. NPS Science Communication Specialist Ed Sharron will begin with an indoor discussion that explores how animals meet their basic winter needs for food, water, and shelter. Then, head outside for a snowshoe hike investigating different habitats. Event open to all ages. Please dress appropriately for outdoor activity, and bring a water bottle and snowshoes if possible. Adult and children’s snowshoes are available if needed. Event will continue snow or shine. Please pre-register as space is limited. Shakespeare's "Merry Wives of Windsor". The Weathersfield Proctor Library and Patti Arrison are hosting a reading of the Shakespeare play-seduction, mistresses, and mayhem abound. Books are provided by the Library. Come enjoy reading another great Shakespeare play with friends and neighbors. From February 5 to March 4th at 6:30 - 8pm

North Country Community Theater Teen's production of GREASE. Tickets are on sale now. Performances are Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 29 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and March 1 at 3 p.m.

Winter Wild Run-Ascutney Trails at Ascutney Outdoors Brownsville, VT 6-9 p.m. The twisting, climbing old ski area adventure returns. This is what it's all about, a small VT ski area with 4 seasons of awesome to offer- stay for some food provided by the local general store.
