West Windsor's 4th of July Parade-"West Windsor Thru the Years" almost didn't happen but a committee was formed and donations were solicited and once again the town rallied for their annual summer get-together. And they start early-7-10 a.m. there is a pancake breakfast at the Brownsville Community Church. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. the fire station is converted into a flea market. 10 a.m.-noon there were games for children, hosted by the Albert Bridge School, which also hosted the children's bicycle decoration station-so children could spruce up their bikes and ride in the parade.
Whipped Cream Eating Contest
Lunch was served by The West Windsor Moonlighter's Snowmobile Club and power shakes were being sold by The Fast Squad. Music was provided by The Firehouse Six Dixieland Band.

The crowds started lining up along Rte 44 and the parade started rolling about 1 p.m.
Cheers went up as the Windsor Police truck, lights flashing, rolled under the giant flag, hoisted by Ascutney Volunteer Fire Association's Ladder 1 and West Windsor's Ladder 1. It had just started to rain but no one in the crowd seemed to mind. There were three floats, horses, dogs and boy scouts. First Prize went to Lucy Mac's float, Second Prize went to Orange Lakes Holiday Inn Club Vacations-Ascutney Mountain Resort. And Third Prize to the Albert Bridge School Class of 2015. Best Appearance Truck went to Ascutney.

Donations for next year's celebration may be made to "Town of West Windsor, July 4th Fund" and mailed to Town of West Windsor, PO Box 37, Brownsville VT 05037.
