Vermont 100 Endurance Race 2015 #VT100 #VT #VermontAdaptive

Where were you at 4 a.m. on Saturday July 18? If you were at Silver Hill Meadow in West Windsor you saw 318 people line up to challenge themselves to run 100 miles in under 30 hours. With the weather forecast calling for hot, humid weather with temperatures in the 80s and a chance of thunderstorms all day it may surprise you to hear that 221 of these folks did in fact finish the race.

These people were taking part in the 27th Annual Vermont 100 Endurance Race to benefit Vermont Adaptive.

A little later in the morning 68 runners took to the course to run 100 Kilometers (57 finished before the 5 a.m. closure of the 100 Km course.) And it's not just runners out there. This is the only 100 miler in the country that runs with horses on course too. The riders can take their horses on a 100 mile, 75 mile or 50 mile course.
The 100 mile winners were Scott Traer from Woburn MA 15:01:50 and Ashley Lister from Lock Haven PA 18:08:59.

The 100 Km winners Emily LeVan from Randolph Center VT 10:08:52 and Brian Marshburn from Wake Forest NC 10:44:46. Brian ran Solo-without a crew, taking aid only from the aid stations on course.
