Plymouth Notch, Vermont

This past Saturday The Vermont Division for Historic Preservation hosted “Plymouth Old Home Day” at the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site. This event brings together town organizations in a fun-filled festival of traditional craft and farm demonstrations, wagon rides, country cuisine, and activities for the entire family.

Children’s activities included “Clara’s Games” featuring old-time games organized by the Vermont Historical Society; “create your own” pressed flower cards with Ellen Denton; and Hands-on History discoveries at the one room schoolhouse.

Also during the day, there were wagon rides and sheep shearing with Fred DePaul; a barbecue to benefit the Plymouth VFD; home-style cooking at the Wilder House Restaurant; cheese making and wine tasting at the Plymouth Cheese Factory; old time fiddler Adam Boyce; Vermont artisans & special exhibits: Fiber Arts in Vermont (showcasing their latest project – a reproduction of a Coolidge family wool blanket), paper quilling, silhouettes and fancy paper cutting, spinning, Vermont State Parks, vintage automobiles on display, and more!
