Loch Lomand and Eilean Donan Castle: Scottish Isles and Glens
Eilean Donan Castle This day's adventure includes travel from Glasgow to our hotel in Kyle of Lochalish. We'll be staying two nights the Balmacara Hotel. It's a dark and gloomy morning as we leave Glasgow. We make a photo stop at Loch Lomond . We also make a stop at the Green Welly for some coffee and some shopping. You pretty much can't go wrong at a shop that sells Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and Whisky. Back on the coach and we're traveling through the Great Glen. We stop at the memorial to Hugh Munro. This large cairn stands at the viewpoint beside the A82 above Loch Tulla (below) between Bridge of Orchy and the Black Mount. The memorial was built in 2000 by W.G. Park and is dedicated to the memory of the numerous mountaineers who have lost their lives in the Scottish hills over the years.
