Weathersfield Weekly Blog, November 28

I hope you’ve cleared all the turkey and fixings from your fridge by now. As we say goodbye to Thanksgiving Day it’s time to turn our attentions to Holiday Craft Fairs. We are literally surrounded this weekend by craft fairs. Pick a town and I’ll be you can find a fair or bazaar just a quick drive from your reference point. I’ll be visiting the one I always do in Brownsville at Story Memorial Hall Saturday late morning. They have the BEST corn chowder so plan your visit around noon. I’ll also be heading to Bridgewater, Vermont to visit with the good people at Shackleton/Thomas for their annual open house on Saturday afternoon. The best part about this event is one of my favorite local bands will be performing-Ida Mae Specker and The Terrible Mountain Stringband. Ida and crew are from Andover, Vt. And they are just so talented-you should check them out.

Adventures and Assignments

Despite the record breaking, bitterly cold morning, about 50 people and their canine companions braved the elements to walk/run the 5th Annual Canine-Friendly Turkey Trot hosted by The Climb Fitness Center in Brownsville. The first humans across the finish line were: Charlotte Taguta from Brownsville, Bryce Moody from Windsor and Belle Leicester from Hartland. The first canine and his people to cross the finish line was “Tek” with Dillon Armstrong and Joshua Bruce.
