Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt, The Dynamic Duo Returns @upac @CollegeStMusic #LyleLovett #johnhiattmusic

Just like a couple of kids before school lets out for the summer, Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt discussed what they each were going to be doing for the summer.

Lyle will be touring some with Vince Gill (May 28 Capitol Center for the Performing Arts in Concord NH)  before hitting the road with his 'Large Band' (tour dates) and John will be heading to Japan and Europe with 'The Combo' before hitting the road with Taj Mahal (tour dates.)

Lyle and John have two dates booked in October and I'm hoping more will be announced in the New England area.

Folks ask me why I go to back to back shows by the same artist (s), I can only reply because each night is different-you never know what you'll get. This can definitely be said for the duo of Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt. Both are extremely talented on their own or with bands behind them, but something special happens when they take the stage together.

Saturday night they played the newly renovated College St. Music in New Haven. The venue was still working out the kinks but the show from the first row was great. Lyle wasn't quite himself-we've seen these two eleven times before this show and Lyle is usually very talkative. But no matter. They both looked like they were having a good time and the audience sure was.

Sunday night they played The Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston NY. Lyle was back in his talkative way. Somewhat psycho-analyzing John. John said something like-"I'm glad we're continuing these sessions, I just hoped we'd do them backstage."
